Q Station Historical Tours

History of North Head

Q Station is a historical site located on Manly’s North Head.

From the 1830’s to 1984 migrant ships transporting people with suspected contagious diseases anchored to offload passengers and crew into quarantine to protect the local residents of Sydney from the threat of infection.

Set on 30 hectares of national park land, our 65 heritage buildings have been creatively repurposed as hotel accommodation, two restaurants, a café, museum and function rooms for conferences, weddings and events.

Tours

Q Station has been running tours since the 1990s dedicated to both education and adventure. Join a History Tour to learn about Sydney’s former Quarantine Station – the people who lived, worked and died here, as well as the old buildings and medical practices.

Wharf Wander Tour

The Wharf Wander History Tour runs daily at 11am for 45 minutes; and both 11am and 3:00pm on Saturdays.

Q Station Story

Our more in-depth History Tour, Quarantine Station Story, runs from 2pm every Saturday & Sunday for two hours.
